BLOG REPORT: "Little hands" (Down's syndrome)
Yesterday, a very nice blog report was made about the hands of a little baby-boy who has Down's syndrome:
http://wwwourunexpectedjourney.blogspot.com/2010/10/little-hands.html
Obviously, he doesn't have the simian line... but what other typical hand features do we see? For example, take a closer look at his little finger!
(In the responses one can see confirmed that about half of the babies with Down's syndrome have the simian crease.)
PS. Here I have presented an overview of all typical hand characteristics in Down syndrome:

Hi Jeanette, jeanette wrote:I just noticed I think that is a misplaced triradius at the bas of the palm.
Jeanette.
A 'mis-placed triradius' is indeed a very common characteristic in Down's syndrome (actually it is even much more common than the 'famous' simian line).
But whether one can see that triradius from this photo... for sure, I can't!
So, I am not sure what you exactly observed...???
Would you mind to specify your observation?
PS. Yes indeed... looks like we see the 'single crease' on the little finger!

I thought nearing the centre up from the wrist, but maybe it is lines causing this shape.
