My observations and learnings from various traditional palmistry books on Girdle of venus ( considerable synonyms: sex line, passion line, wisdom preaching line, mandoshnada)

I would like to share my observations and learnings on this so called 'Girdle of venus' right here.

1. Let permit me to criticise western generalized idea on this line (as they name this line 'Girdle of venus'). Infact, we could see various variants of this line on palm with much varied interpretations on each.

2. Observe whether this line is thin and fine line or thick and deep line. secondly, observe it whether it is partial or complete girdle. Because, each one of this differences profoundly changes it's meanings.

3. In karthekeyan system, This line has been named as 'mandoshnada'. Meaning is 'cold of touch'. It is very much necessary for a palmist to identify 'mandoshnada' before generalizing this line as 'girdle of venus'. Infact, Naming this line as venus itself a wrong identity when it lies on saturn or sun or both mounts. Mandoshnada is a fine thin line which begin between the index and saturn finger and passes through saturn mount then fade / stops before entering to sun mount. Here, it should not be given generalized name 'partial girdle of venus'. Interpretation: Cold of touch. Difficulty in finding the job. I had presented 4 examples in former piforum regarding mandoshnada.

4. Wave line, in traditional palmistry. multiple broken/wavy lines which encircles the saturn and sun mount, even mercury mount some cases. If this lines are quite strong, the effect will be more. Indication: Indulgence in sex like of sexual maniac. characteristics of this lines to qualify it are multiple breaks and either horizontal or semi-circular lines. This line is also called 'Line of sexual indulgence'.

5. Line of wisdom-preachers. Line begins between sun and mercury and then, curves and terminates between index and saturn like the bow. Indication: In the raising period of life, such individuals go for preaching wisdom at many places.

Hope, we can discuss more about this subject as we have various other interpretations about this line like suicidal tendency if it is found v shape. Then, spiritual nature, over- sensitivity, and emotional. Hence, I welcome all your observation and expecting you to share your experiences. It is just initiation of this topic.

No, That's not ring of saturn. may be i mis-wrote that by saying encircling. actually i supposedly want to write 'pass through saturn mount' instead of encircling. I think, you can call it as partial ring of venus in western terms for understanding. I try to edit my first post in this regard.

I have been reading about the GOV over the years, but still have not yet arrived at any definite conclusion about the same.

Could anyone refresh this topic with definite conclusions ?

I have a question too. What could be concluded from the previously broken GOV of a person's hand (active) changing into a more well formed and definite line ?

   .......would be really grateful for the help.

A Broken GOV is better than unbroken one because the broken GOV allows the energy to flow from the bottom wrist to the edge of Saturn and Apollo Fingers.

Thank you for taking the initiative in the discussion ; you have propelled my mind into thinking, which had planned to take a break from palmistry for at least a month. It takes up a lot of mental energy which is required elsewhere at the moment.

The Girdle of Venus is the semi- circular line rising between the index and Saturn fingers ans ending between the Ring and Little finger.
First of all I appreciate the efforts of Stalin.v for his info on this line and at the same time I disagree to a few points. 1. nomenclature as Girdle of Venus 2. Physical Indulgence.

Whoever named 'Girdle Of Venus' has rightly done so.
VENUS - This mount is associated to vitality . Function depends on the fullness of mount.
GIRDLE - means a belt or cord worn around the waist.
              Wikipedia says " In literature Girdles are often portrayed as magical, giving power and strength if worn by men, and protection if worn by women. Several scriptures in the Bible make use of the girdle as a symbol for readiness and preparation.
Later on for women it became a sign for virginity. Often in literature, women are portrayed as safe from sexual or other attack when wearing a girdle, but suddenly vulnerable if its missing or stolen.
Even in India, babies are traditionally made to wear a thick black thread around the waist for protection against evil-eye and preserving vitality.
If we take note of the underlined words above we could rightly name this line as GOV because its function is precisely what it means.
Cheiro says, " Many authors associate gross sensuality to GOV, which is an error." He says that it should be remembered that the hand is divided by the line of head, as it were into 2 hemispheres, lower and the upper. The lower relates to physical and upper to intellectual. Hence this line relates more to the mental side of the symbolism of the Venus nature."
G.S. Birla also says the same thing in vedic terminology. Lower part of hand is "Tamas"- physical, middle part is " Rajas" -mental, and upper - Sattwa - spiritual.
GOV lies on the topmost part, hence it relates to deep mental impressions (Vasanas) which are present in the unconscious mind and not gross sensuality.
1. When the girdle forms from the mount of Saturn to that of mercury----imaginings are impure and unhealthy.
2. When girdle forms from mount of Jupiter --imaginings take jupitarean qualities, ie, ambitious; Creative Intelligence, highly strung nervous temperament ,ability to manipulate forces. Fluctuate from high and low spirits.
3. When Broken---- Hysterical : mood swings ; changeable nature.
4. Unbroken ------ Does not indicate Hysteria. (confirmed by Benham too.)
Benham's deduction does not match Cheiro's as he associates this line with gross sensuality and lasciviousness. Cheiro is closer to reality.
Brief on Hysteria : Hysteria is more found in females than males. It is caused due to scientific and spiritual reasons related to Existential Discontentment.
The suppression of the Feminine principle in the collective human psyche, causing imbalance between the female and male energies in the world. This sacred feminine being suppressed is felt by many as emotional pain. Females are more in touch with their inner self, have greater openness and sensitivity and are more attuned to the natural world.
Brighter side is, we all have opportunities to increase our knowledge and awareness. This very energy could be turned to a positive direction which transforms to Emotional and Creative Intelligence.
Modern palmists have a very positive attitude towards the presence of GOV.
The geniuses and great creative people known throughout history have tapped into this source of energy with a little nerve current rising through their spine , awakening some portions of the brain.
The most notable and common feature is that they are hyperactive due to the great vital forces acting through them.
In a nutshell,  the ideal Girdle of Venus, symbolizes protection and control of the vital energies to be transformed into positive Creative Intelligence.

Girdle of Venus is formed due to the combination of the planets Chandra and Ketu in Indian Palmistry.

The person who poseses such a line has inteliigence,spiritual nature,mother who is ill many times in her life,and difficulty in finding a job.
