Hi all,

I cannot get the image so am putting a link to the Australian Prime Minister's hand, he like Hillary Clinton had to fight back to be Prime Minister, and like Hillary has a remarkable Mount of Mars, but also a very dominant Mount of Jupiter. He, perhaps even more so than Hillary, has a Simian line as seen in this image, his other hand has a very tight head and heart line. I could not find any image which could provide information on the finger ratio. His mount of Jupiter is so pronounced that it may indicate a tendency towards narcissism - but would love insights.

Are you referring to the Prime Minister Turnball? Or to Hillary?

Sorry Felicity, learner is correct: Malcolm Turnbull does not have a simian line in any of his hands - which is clearly illustrated by the picture below:

Thanks Learner and Martijn,

That's why I asked for feedback and appreciate it, even if it is somewhat negative. I had recognised there were limitations with the photos I had looked at.

Where did you source that photo? Is there any feedback on the mounts? Or are they another unsubstantiated assertion?

If you search for images on google, you will see many more pictures. He has very good mounts. I think many successful people especially politicians have good jupiter and mars mounts. Without a strong drive given by Mars and sense of self-importance given by Jupiter, I don't think one can becomes so successful.

Thanks Learner,

I had checked Google images, but had missed your image featured in your posting, much appreciated!

I suppose the thing that stood out for me with Hillary Clinton, given we only have images to refer to, was Mar's dominance when compared to the Venus, which appeared flat by comparison. This was a point of interest to me when reading Holzman (2013), though not as extreme as his example (Hotzman, 2013, p. 53).

I was also interested in Martijn's work on hands and extraversion/introversion, and his statistically significant findings for males when gender was factored in.

I was interested in Lerer's (1977) research into the connection of the transverse palmer crease in children demonstrating ADHD, given the increasing number of children being diagnosed with this disorder, however this varies considerably between states here in Australia.

I was wondering if you or Martijn know of any further studies that have been done to replicate this as I could not find any peer-reviewed citing articles. But search engines can be very dogmatic and a pain when looking for follow up research.

Once again thank you for the photo link

The photo link was given by Martijn. Martijn is the professional psychologist, I don't have any professional training in psychology. So Martijn is the best person to answer your questions.

Hi Felicity,

I found the photo with Google images.

Regarding the mounts: your observations might be right... but in general I think it is quite hard to make a precise assessment for the mounts and usually such assessment are made on arbitrary grounds - therefore I don't attribute much value to the mounts.

(I realize this is just my personal opinion but I have the impression that all mounts in Malcolm Turnbull's hands might be overdeveloped and therefore I wouldn't pay much attention to any of the mounts in specific...and one could make a likewise observation regarding his fingers - his middle finger appears the only underdeveloped factor)

Regarding Lerer's study:

Sorry Felicity, I am not aware of any other studies which have confirmed the reported correlation between ADHD and the simian line; however, in some studies & ADHD involving MPA's (minor physical anomalies) the correlation has not been reported... and therefore the size of the correlation-effect is likely only small at best - which indicates that the simian line in isolation should not get associated with ADHD directly.

See for example this study where abnormal palmar creases are not reported to be significant, however various factors involving the fingers (clinodactyly, bajonet finger & 4d:2d finger ratio) are being reported as significant:

Thanks Martijn,

I will certainly follow up on your references, this area is important to me as I work as a support worker in a new Rural Health program for mothers at risk, often severely dysfunctional families, who suffer isolation etc. There is a high incidence of ADHD, drug abuse, obesity in parents, lots of Coca Cola, depression, BPD, DPD, ASPD and PTSD.
