Hello Arch,

In the Palmistry Books TOP 100 is currently the book 'Palmistry: Apprentice to Pro in 24 Hours' listed as the no.1, see:
http://www.handresearch.com/book/palmistry-top-100-amazon-books.htm

However, I also would like to add that in any field it is probably quite impossible to go from beginner level to pro via one book.

Beyond the need to read & study more books than one, it is also important to be aware that it takes a lot of time- and experience to become a pro. The shortest road is probably to get connected with an experienced professional in order to complete a course offered in your region.

I am okay with following multiple books: just assist me in which order should I refer them.

Hello Arch,

I would recommend you to focus on the titles that both score high in the TOP 100... AND have been recommended by various hand reading experts (the recommendations for each title are listed at the bottom for each book listed in the TOP 100).

Additionally, it is also important that you look for experiences beyond the books - however, I am not sure which type of hand reading suits your interest.

So, I nee more info regarding your interest to make a more specific recommendation.

I hope this makes sense?

The sub-title of this forum describes some of the most popular 'modern' types of hand reading:

"Including: Life Purpose Hand Analysis, Elemental- & PsychoDiagnostic Chirology, Vedic Palmistry & Spiritual Palm Reading!"

hi Arch,
re "Can you brief me up with types pf palmistry." "Before making a pick can you give me little insight of each?"

Really that would take many hours!
Martijn's advice is good, if you read thru the forum sections about different types of handreading you might find which type you prefer to focus on to start your studies.

My website gives books that I recommend, but many of them are now out of print. (it needs updating!)
http://www.handanalysis.co.uk/books.htm
My favourite book on western palmistry is Johnny Fincham "The Spellbinding Power of Palmistry". (I prefer it to his "Apprentice to Pro" book.)

A classic standard is William Benham "The Laws of Scientific Hand reading" written in year 1900. reprinted as "The Benham Book of Palmistry" 1988 (good for mounts and finger types, not so good on palmar lines). It is available free online as .pdf download eg here
http://www.astrogle.com/files/downloads/William-Benham-laws-of-scientific-handreading.pdf

Once you get really interested in palmistry, one book leads to another... just start reading! Try out and test the theories that you read, look at lots of hands, don't believe everything you read, use your discriminating mind!
Happy studying Smile

Thanks Lynn,

Very nice to see you mention 2 titles that score high in the TOP 100 list... especially in terms of 'expert-recommendations'!

For, both titles are listed in the TOP 3 of the most recommended books - Benham represents the no.1 and Fincham's first book the no.3:

I had started with 'Palmistry for all' by 'Cheiro' recommend anything that would help with an easy transition.
Can I start with 'Laws of Scientific Hand Reading'?

Yes, I can make a recommendation Benham's classic which is known as 'the bible of palmistry' - but be aware that it was written in 1900, which implicates that some parts are kind of outdated.

(Sorry, I would not recommend Cheiro's work for the purpose of serious study - it is controversial in the eyes of many hand readers around the world, e.g. because it represents 'predictive palmistry')

PS. It's kind of hard for me to make any further recommendations at this stage for you, as you've not been able to specify your interest.

I didn't really complete 'Palmistry for All', the reason being I understood very little. It was pretty hard for me to understand what he was trying to convey.
PS - Can any one link me a better pdf for 'Laws of Scientific Hand reading'? Its real pain 'cause I read it through my mobile.
